‘Khelo India’ programme promotes "sports for all" and "sports for excellence". It is a Pan-Indian sports scholarship programme that annually awards funding to the 1000 most talented players across all sports. Sporting culture is developed by identifying, developing and encouraging talent in sports discipline. As a part of its mission, ‘Yogasana City League’ programme was conducted in association with ‘Telangana Yogasana Sports Association at St.Martin’s Engineering College. Sri Etela Rajender garu, M.P., Malkajgiri Constituency was the chief guest. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of games and sports. He added that Yogasanas play vital role in leading healthy lives. Sri Ch.Mallareddy garu, MLA (Medchal), was the Guest of Honour. The programme was graced with Chairman Sri Marri Laxman Reddy garu, Executive Director, Sri G.Chandra Sekhar Yadav Garu, Professor & Group Director, Dr.P.Santosh Kumar Patra sir, G.Sridhar Rao Garu, TYSA state president in charge of Tamilnadu and Nandanam Krupakar garu, National Joint Secretary, Yogasana Bharat. The Guest of honour, Sri Ch.Mallareddy garu motivated the students to maintain healthy lives through games and sports. As per his words, meditation is the best medicine for any health issues. Professor & Group Director, Dr.P.Santosh Kumar Patra sir, suggested the students to spare half an hour a day for performing yogasanas. He added that most of celebrities have been caring for the physical health by practising yogasanas. He praised the college Chairman as a role model for the successful personal and healthy life through regular participation in running, cycling and swimming. The programme was attended with 700 participants. The chief guest and guests of honour were felicitated at the end of the programme.
