 INTRODUCTION
The ISTE Student Chapter started on March 2004. The college got registered as ISTE Student Chapter bearing number AP082,SMEC.

The inauguration celebrations begun with the words "You can't change the past, but your future lies in the work you do today" by the Prof. P. Srinivasa Rao.The felicitations of esteemed chief guests for the celebrations were Mr. Rama Rao , secretary ISTE A. P. Section, principal Dr.K.V.J. Rao, Chairman Sri. M.Laxman Reddy. The program began with a prayer song by Hamsa Gayatri of CSE.
This was followed by a traditional welcome dance by students Sushma of IV-CSE and group. The theme being the importance and the deserved respect to be given to the teachers in Indian culture This was followed by the lighting of the lamp by the chief guests, the chief patron Sri. M. Laxman Reddy, chairman and the chairperson Dr. K.V.J.Rao, Principal.
To begin with it started with a introductory speech by Abhinav of III-CSE . Speaking about the various mentalities of various people and their destinies. The speech was followed by a ISTE representative Bhanu Prakash giving an introduction of ISTE. Their Aim being advancing technical education in India and offering quality engineers. Their functions being conducting seminars, workshops, career development for staff and students around the country.
To follow Dr. K.V.J.Rao addressed the congregation. He gave a brief history of this institution established in 2002 by St.Martin's Children Education Society with non- minority status, having 5 branches (CSE,IT,ECE,EEE,BIO Tech) & 2 P.G courses(MCA & MBA) with total intake of 540 students every year. All the departments equipped with 500 computers with Pentium-IV. In the past students bagging various prizes in nation level for seminars and paper presentation. Sports had its own charm having various medals won.
In the near future the college is organizing a national level seminar under ISTE.
The chief guest spoke about the establishment of ISTE and its functions and stressing upon the world becoming smaller due to globalization. He explains about industrial life, improvement of team skills, leadership qualities, etc…. ISTE gives the students a form for the above listed. He spoke about the innovative ideas from students as seen at the convention held every year .The convention for this year being at Karnataka. Finally wishes the student chapter of ISTE a grand success. This was followed by the second session the cultural programs.
